Online Quran classes in Greece
Private live Quran lessons for Pakistanis in Greece: times that fit Greek school and afternoon tutoring, lessons for working adults, and children in Greece or Pakistan learning with the same teacher.
Quran lessons for Pakistanis living in Greece
Pakistanis have been living and working in Greece for decades. Most live in and around Athens and Piraeus, in neighbourhoods and suburbs such as Kypseli, Peristeri, Nikaia, Aspropyrgos and Acharnes, while others work in farming areas of the Peloponnese and central Greece, on islands during the tourist season, or in towns across the mainland. Many trace their roots to Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Sialkot and the villages around Kharian.
Some have their whole family with them in Greece. Others work there while their wife and children live in Pakistan, sending money home and visiting when they can. Both kinds of family share the same wish: that the children read the Quran correctly, and that the adults keep up their own recitation too. One-to-one online Quran classes make that possible wherever each person happens to be. OQC.com.pk teaches from Pakistan to students worldwide, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a live video call with a qualified teacher.
Fitting Quran lessons around Greek school and tutoring
Greek children usually go to school in the morning and finish in the early afternoon. Many then spend part of the afternoon or evening at a frontistirio, the private tutoring centres that are a normal part of school life in Greece, for English, maths or exam preparation. With school, tutoring and homework, a child's day fills up quickly, and travelling to a Quran class at a fixed hour is often the first thing to be dropped.
A 30-minute lesson at home is much easier to keep. Common choices for families in Greece are:
- Straight after school: a short lesson after lunch, before tutoring begins.
- Early evening: once tutoring and homework are done.
- Morning: mothers and other adults while the children are at school.
- Early morning or late night: working men before or after their shift.
- Weekends: for families who prefer Saturday or Sunday lessons; see weekend Quran classes.
Because we teach at every hour, the time is your choice. If tutoring days change with the new school year, the lesson can move too, and our team first tries to keep the same teacher at the new time.
Learning as an adult while working in Greece
Many Pakistani men in Greece work long and irregular hours in farms, workshops, construction, shops, restaurants or delivery. Some never had the chance to learn the Quran properly as children; others learned to read but want to correct their Tajweed or memorise more surahs. A private lesson is a comfortable way to do that: nobody else is listening, the teacher goes at your pace, and the lesson happens at an hour that fits your shift, even very early or very late.
Adult beginners start from the letters, exactly like children, and many are reading short surahs within a few months of steady practice. See Quran classes for adults for how lessons are adapted for grown-up learners.
When the family is split between Greece and Pakistan
For families where the father works in Greece and the children live in Pakistan, online classes have a special benefit. The children can learn at home in Pakistan at a fixed daily time, and the father can join the call from Greece now and then to listen to them read, or simply ask the teacher how they are getting on. Our city pages for Gujrat, Jhelum and Sialkot explain how lessons work for students at home in Pakistan. The fee and courses are the same wherever the student lives.
Children who think in Greek
Children growing up in Greece learn a different alphabet at school, speak Greek with friends and often mix Punjabi or Urdu at home. Parents sometimes worry that adding Arabic letters will be too much. In practice, reading the Quran is a separate skill that every child learns step by step. Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida: each letter and its sound, then joined letters, then short words. They then move on to Nazra Quran and proper Tajweed, and some go on to Hifz. Teachers explain in simple Urdu or English. We do not promise Greek-speaking teachers, so use the free trial to see how comfortable your child is.
Long Greek summers, lessons that continue
Greek schools have one of the longest summer breaks in Europe, running from about mid-June to September. Without lessons, that is nearly three months for a child to forget what they learned. Online lessons carry on through the summer, whether the family stays in Greece or travels to Pakistan to see relatives: the student joins from a phone or tablet wherever they are, usually with the same teacher. Some families use the summer for extra lessons, for example to finish the Qaida or revise memorised surahs before school starts again.
Female or male teacher
Female and male teachers are both available 24/7. Many families choose a female Quran teacher for daughters, young children and mothers. Students normally stay with the same teacher, who keeps track of their progress from lesson to lesson. For tips on judging a teacher during the free trial, see choosing an online Quran teacher.
How a lesson works
Teacher and student both keep their video on and see each other at the side of the screen. The teacher screen-shares the Qaida or Quran page and points to the word to be read. The student reads aloud from the shared page on a phone, tablet or laptop, and the teacher corrects pronunciation and Tajweed straight away. No printed Quran is needed. On the Monday to Friday plan each lesson is 30 minutes. See how it works for the full picture.
Around school and tutoring

Questions from families in Greece
What is the time difference between Greece and Pakistan?
Greece is 3 hours behind Pakistan in winter and 2 hours behind in summer, because Greece moves its clocks forward in late March and back in late October while Pakistan does not. A 5 pm lesson in Athens is 8 pm in Pakistan in winter and 7 pm in summer.
Do we have to change the lesson time when the clocks change?
No. The lesson is booked at your local Greek time and our teachers adjust on their side, so the student keeps the same hour all year.
My children go to school in the morning and to tutoring in the afternoon. When can they learn?
Many families choose a 30-minute slot between school and afternoon tutoring, or in the evening after tutoring and homework. We teach 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you pick the days and the hour.
My children speak Greek better than Urdu. Can they still learn?
Yes. The Quran is read in Arabic, so the core skill is the same for every child. Teachers explain in simple Urdu or English, and the free trial is a good chance to see which language works best for your child.
I work long hours in Greece. Can I learn as an adult?
Yes. Adults and complete beginners are welcome. Many working men take a lesson early in the morning before work or late at night after their shift, at whatever hour suits them.
Is a female teacher available?
Yes. Female and male teachers are both available 24/7 on every course.
What is the fee?
The Monday to Friday plan is PKR 7,500 a month per student for 20 one-to-one 30-minute live classes a month, Monday to Friday. Our team explains how to pay from Greece and discusses the fee for any other schedule.
Is the first lesson free?
Yes. The trial lesson is free, with nothing to pay and no obligation.
