Online Quran classes in Italy

Private live Quran lessons for Pakistani families in Italy: a qualified teacher at home when there is no class nearby, times that fit long working days, and lessons that continue in Pakistan.

Quran lessons for Pakistani families in Italy

Many Pakistani families have made their homes in Italy over the past decades, in cities such as Brescia, Milan, Bergamo, Bologna, Rome, Florence, Prato and Treviso, and in many smaller towns in the north where work is found. A large share of them have roots in Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum and the villages around Kharian, and they keep close ties with family back home.

Children growing up in Italy speak Italian at school and with friends, and often mix Italian, Punjabi and Urdu at home. Parents want them to read the Quran correctly and with confidence, the way they themselves learned as children. But a regular, trusted Quran teacher close to home is not always easy to find, especially outside the big cities. One-to-one online Quran classes bring a qualified teacher into your home on a live video call, at the hour that suits your family. OQC.com.pk teaches from Pakistan to students worldwide, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When there is no Quran class nearby

In many Italian towns, the nearest place with a regular Quran class may be a long drive away, and it often meets only at the weekend. A child who learns once a week tends to forget much of the lesson by the next one. Online lessons solve the distance problem: your child learns at home, at the kitchen table or in their room, with a parent nearby. Short lessons several times a week build steady progress far better than one long weekend class.

Because every lesson is private, the teacher listens to one student only. A shy child who would stay quiet in a group reads aloud, and every mistake is heard and corrected.

Long work hours, flexible lesson times

Many parents in Italy work long days in factories, workshops, farms, transport or their own shops and restaurants, sometimes with early starts or late finishes. It can be hard to drop children at a class at a fixed hour. We teach at every hour, so the family picks the time that works: straight after school, after dinner, or early in the morning before the day starts. If your working hours change with the season, the lesson can move too, and our team first tries to keep the same teacher at the new time.

Parents can learn as well. Mothers often take a private lesson in the morning while the children are at school, and fathers in the late evening. See Quran classes for adults and online Quran classes for ladies.

Italian-speaking children and the Quran

Some parents worry that a child who thinks in Italian will struggle with Arabic letters. In practice, reading the Quran is a skill of its own for every child, whatever language they speak at home. Beginners start with the Noorani Qaida, learning each letter and its sound, then join letters, then read words. From there they move on to Nazra Quran and proper Tajweed. Teachers explain in simple Urdu or English. We do not promise Italian-speaking teachers, so use the free trial to see how your child gets on.

Summers in Pakistan, lessons that travel

Italian schools have a long summer break, and many families spend weeks or even months with relatives in Pakistan. With a local class, that usually means a long gap and a lot of forgetting. With online lessons, the child joins from a phone or tablet wherever the family is staying, often with the same teacher. Some families use the summer for extra lessons, for example to finish the Qaida or to revise Hifz before the new school year. Cousins in Gujrat or Jhelum can learn the same courses at their own times; see our pages for Gujrat and Jhelum.

Three or four hours behind Pakistan

Italy is 4 hours behind Pakistan in winter and 3 hours behind in summer. You book the lesson at your Italian time and our teachers handle the difference, so the clock changes in March and October do not affect you. We teach 24/7, so any hour you choose is a normal teaching hour for us.

  • Morning: mothers' and adults' lessons while the children are at school.
  • Afternoon, after school: young children, before homework and before they get tired.
  • Evening: older children and working parents, after dinner.
  • Weekends: for families who prefer Saturday or Sunday lessons.

Female or male teacher

Female and male teachers are both available 24/7. Many families choose a female Quran teacher for daughters, young children and mothers. Students normally stay with the same teacher, who keeps track of their progress. For tips on judging a teacher in the free trial, see choosing an online Quran teacher.

How a lesson works

Teacher and student both keep their video on and see each other at the side of the screen. The teacher screen-shares the Qaida or Quran page and points to the word to be read. The student reads aloud from the shared page on a phone, tablet or laptop, and the teacher corrects pronunciation and Tajweed straight away. No printed Quran is needed. On the Monday to Friday plan each lesson is 30 minutes. See how it works.

Fee and payment from Italy

Our standard plan is PKR 7,500 a month per student on the Monday to Friday plan, which gives 20 one-to-one 30-minute live classes a month, Monday to Friday. It is the same for every course and for a female or male teacher, and each student is on their own plan. Our team explains how to arrange payment from Italy, and the fee for any other schedule, such as weekends only, is discussed directly with the team. See the fees page.

Questions from families in Italy

What is the time difference between Italy and Pakistan?

Pakistan is 4 hours ahead of Italy in winter and 3 hours ahead in summer, because Italy moves its clocks forward in late March and back in late October while Pakistan does not. A 5 pm lesson in Brescia or Milan is 9 pm in Pakistan in winter and 8 pm in summer.

Do I need to change the lesson time when the clocks change?

No. The lesson is booked at your local Italian time, and our teachers adjust on their side, so your child keeps the same hour all year.

My children speak Italian better than Urdu. Can they still learn?

Yes. The Quran is read in Arabic, so the main skill is the same for every child. Teachers explain in simple Urdu or English, and the free trial is a good time to check which language works best for your child.

Can my daughter learn with a female teacher?

Yes. Female and male teachers are both available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on every course.

What is the fee?

The Monday to Friday plan is PKR 7,500 a month per student for 20 one-to-one 30-minute live classes a month, Monday to Friday. Our team explains how to pay from Italy and discusses the fee for any other schedule.

Can lessons continue during the summer holidays in Pakistan?

Yes. Lessons are online, so the student joins from a phone or tablet in Pakistan at the same teacher's time. Many families use the long summer break for extra revision.

Is the first lesson free?

Yes. The trial lesson is free, with nothing to pay and no obligation.
