Online Quran classes in Canada
Live one-to-one Quran lessons for Pakistani Canadian families, kept at the same local time in every province, all year round.
Quran lessons for Pakistani Canadian families
Pakistani families have built strong communities across Canada, in Mississauga, Brampton and Toronto, in Ottawa and Montreal, and out west in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Parents there often tell the same story: weekend Islamic school helps, but one session a week in a large class is rarely enough for a child to read the Quran fluently, and the nearest masjid programme may be a long drive away. Add hockey practice, homework and winter roads, and regular lessons become hard to keep up. One-to-one online lessons bring a teacher into your home at a time that fits your family, with no driving at all.
OQC.com.pk is based in Pakistan and teaches students around the world. Every lesson is live and one-to-one, so your child has the teacher's full attention for the whole lesson. This page is for families in Canada; for families south of the border see online Quran classes in the USA, and for other countries Quran classes for overseas Pakistanis.
Across Canada's time zones
Canada spans six time zones, and most provinces move their clocks twice a year, while Pakistan stays on the same time all year round. In winter Pakistan is 10 hours ahead of Ontario and Quebec and 13 hours ahead of British Columbia; in summer each gap shrinks by an hour. Most of Saskatchewan keeps the same time all year, so its gap does not change. You do not have to work any of this out. Because we teach 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you simply tell us the hour you want in your own time, and we keep the lesson at that local time when the clocks change.
- Ontario and Quebec: after-school slots in the late afternoon or early evening are popular.
- Prairies: Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta families often choose early evening.
- British Columbia: late afternoon or evening, Pacific time.
- Weekends: Saturday or Sunday mornings for families whose weekdays are packed.
Long winters, steady lessons
Canadian winters make every trip out of the house a project. When snow is falling and the roads are slow, a drive across town for a Quran class is the first thing to be cancelled. An online lesson does not depend on the weather. Your child sits in a warm room at home, the teacher appears on screen at the agreed time, and the habit continues all through the season. Over a full winter that consistency makes a real difference.
A typical lesson
Teacher and student both keep their video on and see each other at the side of the screen. The teacher screen-shares the page being studied, a Noorani Qaida lesson or a page of the Quran, and points to each word. Your child reads aloud from the shared page on a laptop, tablet or phone, and the teacher corrects pronunciation, joining and Tajweed straight away. On the Monday to Friday plan lessons are 30 minutes, which fits neatly between school, activities and dinner. See our how it works page for setup details.
Arabic sounds for children who think in English or French
Children raised in Canada think in English, and in Quebec often in French as well. Several Arabic letters have no equivalent in either language, and without regular correction a child can settle into habits that are hard to undo later. In a one-to-one lesson the teacher hears every letter and fixes it the moment it slips. Once reading is fluent, students can move on to Tajweed or start Hifz of selected surahs.
Courses
- Noorani Qaida: letters, sounds and joining, for complete beginners.
- Nazra Quran: fluent, accurate reading from the Mushaf.
- Tajweed: the rules of recitation, practised verse by verse.
- Hifz: memorising selected surahs or the whole Quran.
- Islamic Studies: salah, duas, kalimas and daily basics for children.
During the free trial the teacher checks your child's level and suggests the right starting point. See all options on the courses page.

For the whole family
Most families begin with their children; read about online Quran classes for kids. Many parents then book lessons for themselves, to correct their recitation or memorise more surahs; see Quran classes for adults. Mothers can learn with a female Quran teacher, and our page on online Quran classes for ladies explains how women fit lessons into a busy day.
Trips home and Ramadan
When the family visits Pakistan for a summer or a wedding, lessons can continue from there at a new local time and return to your Canadian time when you are back. In Ramadan, when routines shift, tell our team and we will help move the lesson to a better hour.

Questions from families in Canada
What is the time difference between Canada and Pakistan?
Pakistan does not change its clocks. In Canadian winter (standard time), Pakistan is 10 hours ahead of Toronto and Ottawa, 11 ahead of Winnipeg, 12 ahead of Calgary and Edmonton and 13 ahead of Vancouver. In daylight saving time each gap is one hour shorter. Most of Saskatchewan does not change its clocks, so the gap there stays the same. We keep your lesson at the same Canadian time all year.
Can my child have lessons after school?
Yes. We teach 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so after-school, evening and weekend slots in your province's time zone are all possible.
How do we pay from Canada?
Our listed plan is PKR 7,500 a month per student for 20 one-to-one 30-minute live classes a month, Monday to Friday. Message our team on WhatsApp and they will explain how to pay from Canada and discuss the fee for any other schedule.
Are female teachers available?
Yes. Female teachers are available on every course for girls, young children and women.
My children speak English at home. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Tell us which language your children are most comfortable with when you request the trial, and our team takes it into account when arranging the teacher.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The first one-to-one lesson is free, with nothing to pay and no obligation.
