Quran lessons for Pakistani American families

Pakistani families in the United States, from New York, New Jersey and Chicago to Houston, Dallas, Virginia and California, often face the same challenge: the nearest masjid or weekend school may be a long drive away, classes are large and mixed in level, and a weekly session is rarely enough for a child to read the Quran fluently. Busy school schedules, sports and parents' work hours make it even harder. One-to-one online lessons bring a teacher into your home at a time that suits your family, without the drive.

Working across US time zones

The US spans several time zones and moves its clocks twice a year, while Pakistan stays on the same time all year. In winter Pakistan is 10 hours ahead of Eastern Time and 13 hours ahead of Pacific Time; in summer each gap shrinks by an hour. You do not need to calculate anything. Because we teach 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you simply tell us the time you want in your own time zone, and we keep the lesson at that local time when the clocks change.

• Eastern and Central: after-school slots around 4 pm to 7 pm are popular.
• Mountain and Pacific: late afternoon or early evening, local time.
• Weekend mornings: for families whose weekdays are packed with activities.
• Parents' own lessons: early morning before work, or late evening once the children are asleep.

A typical lesson

Teacher and student both keep their video on and can see each other at the side of the screen. The teacher screen-shares the page being studied, a Noorani Qaida lesson or a page of the Quran, and points to each word. Your child reads aloud from the shared page on a laptop, tablet or phone, and the teacher corrects pronunciation, joining and Tajweed right away. Clear Arabic sounds for English-speaking children

Children raised in America think and speak in English. Several Arabic letters have no English equivalent, and others look alike but sound different, so a child learning without regular correction can develop habits that are hard to undo later. In a private lesson the teacher hears every letter and corrects it the moment it slips. Once reading is fluent, students can move on to Tajweed or begin Hifz of selected surahs.

Summer trips and Ramadan

When the family visits Pakistan for the summer or a wedding, lessons can continue from there, simply at a new local time, and resume at your usual US time when you return. During Ramadan, when routines shift, tell our team and we will help you move the lesson. Keeping the habit going through these breaks makes a real difference to progress.

Our standard plan is PKR 7,500 a month per student on the Monday to Friday plan, which gives 20 one-to-one 30-minute live classes a month, Monday to Friday.
